Comments off
At Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center, we understand what a leap of faith women take when choosing to travel from across the US and from around the world for reversal surgery with a doctor they have never met. For that reason, the doctors and staff do all that they can to provide detailed, accurate information so that couples can feel informed prior to surgery. A nurse is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer questions about untying tubes or address concerns. Drs. Gary Berger and Charles Monteith and the entire staff at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center appreciate the fact that couples trust their fertility to them and want to make the experience a good one!

Is a Flu Shot Safe When Trying to Conceive After Tubal Reversal Surgery?
Comments off
A member of the tubal reversal message board at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center “SJR” asks, “What do you think of getting a flu shot when trying to conceive? I hate putting all the additives in our bodies.” Another member, “Momzilla” responds, “It is actually recommended for pregnant women so I wouldn’t worry about it as long as you have never had a reaction to the vaccine before.” Dr. Berger recommended checking with the Center for Disease Control. Momzilla was right. They recommend flu shots for pregnant women and anyone at risk for the flu, especially those who care for children or are at high risk for exposure. Maintaining optimal health is especially important after reversing tubal ligation and when trying to conceive.

This question is asked on the Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Message Board by a member “40plusclub”. The answer is “yes” and does happen quite frequently according to pregnancy reports received by patients of Dr. Berger and Dr.Monteith. After having the tubes untied it is recommended that patients wait until after their first menstrual period before trying to conceive to give the body adequate time to heal. There is no reason to avoid intercourse until this time, but birth control is suggested.

Today Dr. Monteith answers a member Lacquesua, who is concerned because she has been told that she has cysts on her ovary and is afraid that they will interfere with her upcoming tubal reversal surgery. Dr. Monteith answers, “A cyst on the ovary can be a normal finding. In your first two weeks of your cycle the cyst is a developing egg called a follicle and is usually less than 3-5 cm. When you are in the last two weeks the follicle releases the egg and the remaining cyst is called a corpus luteum and is usually less than 5 cm. This personal attention is what makes Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center the number one facility for reversing tubal ligations.
