Mat Classes at Columbia-Greene Begin Again
Just want to give a shout out to all the fabulous people in my Columbia-Greene Community College mat class that re-started again last night! It’s going to be a great class again this time around.
I love teaching at CGCC because everyone is so dedicated to the class and we have so much fun during the hour.
My favorite exercise from this class is the “Smiling” Plank. In case you want to practice it more at home, here’s some instructions:
1. Come down to the mat on your fists and elbows, with knees bent on the floor.
2. Step one foot back on the mat so the toes are hooked under. Feel your chest lengthening through your arms.
3. Step the other foot back as well, and hover above the mat in a low plank. Reach back through both heels, forward with your spine, and in and up with your abs and inner thighs.
4. Smile.
Anyway, as always, if anyone from class has a question or comment about class, please feel free to email or call me. There will another class, 8 Wednesdays, in March. I’ll have information posted on this site in the “Classes” section by the end of this week.
Thanks, as always, for a great class!
