Professional Sports, Just Cause and the FLDS
After reading numerous blogs and viewing the never ending television programs regarding the sexual, physical and emotional abuse of some, if not all of 400 children and women by the FLDS sect, I was disgusted with the explanation for why nothing has been done for years. The explanation was that governmental agencies lacked "just cause".
I may be simplistic. Just knowing that such abuse was occurring and institutionalized by the FLDS sect should have been "just cause". Just knowing that this form of slavery was occurring should have been "just cause" for protective actions by the state or federal government.
Why did a young teenager, the Rosa Parks from the FLDS sect have to provide "just cause" for intervening and rescuing these abused and brainwashed children and women?
Unforunately, "just cause" can become a rallying cry for governmental employees who do not want to make difficult decisions and carry out the responsibilities of their work.
The proponents of "just cause" pride themselves in protecting our democratic rights and freedoms. In practice, "just cause" has been used by the legal system and governmental agencies often times to justify their failure to protect the abused and neglected members of our country. "Just cause" has become the shield to protect the enemies of the United States and the criminally minded.
Let me clarify my position. I believe that society needs rules and the rules need to be enforced. I believe society members need to be responsible and accountable for their behavior. I believe agencies need to do their jobs and protect society rather than being so fearful and complacent about doing their work.
I would like to point out that amateur and professional sports operate very effectively without the construct of "just cause". Imagine how boring a football game would be if referees could not blow their whistles and assessed penalties without first having a discussion regarding "just cause". What would happen to football, if a group of lawyers had to establish "just cause" before the referee could assess a penalty.
Amateur or professional sports have not immobilized referees with the "just cause" garbage. Instead referees make decisions as they see them. Instant replay is a viable alternative to "just cause". In professional sports, wrong decisions can be corrected by the use of instant replay.
Why can’t governmental agencies become unburdened from "just cause" to the point that they can make decisions? The correctness of their decisions can be reviewed and determine through instant replay performed by other agencies and the legal system.
Remember, We Live within the Environment Created by Our Choices!

FLDS, Waco, Tx., Jim Jones; all too, familar! It is discusting to me that our Government has failed to govern what has been before their very eyes for years, and did nothing!! Sadly, their are many, many more of these sects out there and our Government has an attitude of complacency! I believe in Freedom and all the luxuries that go with it, but not to the point where women and, more importantly, young children, are being brainwashed and exploited and they are not even aware of it because that’s all they know.
I couldn’t give a care to what someone may percieve as “ok” and “Heaven on earth” if one child is in the clutches of men who know better. The women of these sects are also in an apathetic state, many were born in these “camps” and do not understand the outside world at all, thinking it’s “ok” to hand their children over to be molested because it’s their world.
Just cause, give me a break; my kids were pulled over by the police numerous times for “just cause”. Here, we have a walled off city of it’s own, know more about these “communities” by word of mouth from former members of these places, no-less, but our Government can not protect the rights of children. And, you can count on it, there will be some very disturbing facts that will surface in this case-straight from the mouths of babes!
