Floyd Landis’s Secrets For Success
Floyd Landis is the champion of the 2006 Tour de France. I want to thank Ryan Marle from The Alpha Project for his blog on Floyd Landis and the secrets of Floyd’s success.
Landis talked about what he learned from Lance Armstrong:
"His boldness at taking charge of things. His willingness to say, This is what I want, and I’m going to take it. It’s very hard to compete against that."
In Outside Online there are group of articles revealing Floyd’s secret of success.
"Landis takes a sip and leans forward in his chair. There’s only one rule: The guy who trains the hardest, the most, wins. Perod.
Floyd Landis.com presented Floyd’s story:
The series of events surrounding Floyd Landisâs 2006 Tour de France were as improbable as anything in the history of sports. Showing up nine seconds late for the raceâs opening prologue; donning the leaderâs yellow jersey ten days later and then announcing he would have his hip replaced at the Tourâs conclusion (but would ride on in pain until then); losing his lead with a devastating collapse during the sixteenth stage of the tour; and then finding redemption one day later on an historical ride when he made up time and regained his lead in remarkable fashion one day before the Tourâs final stage into Paris. Winning the Tour should have been the culmination of a lifeâs dream but a mere three days later, Landis was accused of using banned performance enhancing drugs and went from being the poster child for one of the greatest comebacks in the history of sport to the universal symbol of all that was wrong in the world of endurance sports. He was released by his team, threatened with removal of his Tour title, and faces suspension from cycling all while being unfairly labeled as a cheater, liar, and doper by media outlets worldwide.
Now that you know a little bit more about Floyd, I want to tell you why I am writing about Floyd. My mission has been to encourage the average person to apply mental fitness tips and concepts into everyday living. I believe that the same principles and secrets of success in the sports world are true in the world of everyday living.
Recently I had a conversation with a woman who has been motivated to lose weight and improve her physical and emotional health. As we talked, it became clear that losing weight was a wish but not a priority.
These are Floyd’s secrets for making successful changes in your life,
1. Taking care of you and achieving your goal has to be a priority. Every day you must have a commitment to do what is necessary to reach your goal.
2. Taking care of you and achieving your goal must be motivated by what you want for yourself. You must be motivated by what you want for yourself and not because you feel you have to or should.
3. You must work harder than you normally work on achieving success and more than most people would work to be successful. Pushing yourself and working hard is the secret of success.
