Life Motives Create or Prevent Success
Urgency about living motivates some people to make changes that are absolutely crucial to their life and happiness.
For example, a person who is self-motivated and knows obesity will destroy good health and happiness will demonstrate urgency by eating to lose weight and exercising.
Why do some people fail to recognize warning signs even when their friends and family are bombarding them with information, pleadings and demands for change?
Look inside of people for the answer.
Most people deny, avoid, reject and are too complacent regarding warnings signs of approaching physical and emotional illnesses, relationship conflicts, financial mismanagement, moral or religious decay and political hypocrisy and abuse.
In spite of all the efforts of family, friends, doctors, ministers, lawyers, psychologists and other service providers, some people remain complacent and fail to recognize and take appropriate action.
Why are people so complacent when the consequences are so severe?
The answer is inside of you. People have life motives which determine behavior. Some life motives will make people receptive to receiving warning signs. Other life motives will prevent warning signs from entering productive consciousness. Without productive, conscious awareness of warning signals, people are completely unable to take adaptive, successful actions.
Unless life motives are compatible and receptive to warning signs, people will be in denial and complacent in identifying warning signs and making decisions to be healthy and happy.
Life motives operate unconsciously. Therefore, people are often unaware of their life motives.
If people are going to make healthy and happy changes in their lives, they must have life motives that are conducive to recognizing and accepting warning signs.
People must make changes in their life motives before they can identify warning signs and make healthy and happy changes in their lives!
Life motives are like a program running in a computer. A computer program designed for learning the English will not help you learn how do improve mathematics. If you want to learn how to improve mathematics, you need a program designed specifically for math. A math program will recognize mathematical inputs, but not inputs designed to improve English.
If your life motives or programs in your mind do not recognize warning signs, all of the efforts of your teammates will fail to register in your mind. You will remain complacent and heading for a train wreck or catastrophe in your life.
