Fat belly may predict dementia: low testosterone low estrogen and low progesterone to blame?
Recent study suggests, that belly fat may be linked to dementia.
Here we’ve got one more piece of evidence that fat is not good for our health. Nobody would argue, that fat may clog the arteries, damage pancreatic gland, promote insulin insensitivity, etc. How they found that, belly fat may portend the disease everybody fears: dementia. But before we make a conclusion, let’s think it over: what causes belly fat to accumulate? Low testosterone, low estrogene o/and progesterone. There was a study recently, suggesting that hormone replacement therapy may prevent Alzheimer’s. So looks like we need the same study for men. Bottom line: there is one more reason for starting hormone replacement.
